PTT Advanced Periodic Inspection & Testing
Summary:
This course is for those who would like to gain more expert knowledge of Periodic Inspection and Testing as it applies to everyday situations.
It is ideally suited to students who have already taken the City & Guilds 2391 qualification and would now like to increase their understanding of real life situations and gain a deeper knowledge of the practical skills required. This course is also suitable for those who have gained the City & Guilds 2392 award and would like to experience the methods employed during Periodic Inspection and Testing.
Details:
The course has both theoretical and practical content, for example; candidates will be taught efficient and safer inspection and testing techniques while also gaining a better understanding of governing regulations.
Candidates will be taught how to judge the age of installations, interpret their results correctly and how to record them accurately.
Course notes are provided.
At the end of the course, Candidates will be awarded a certificate of attendance by PTT.
Candidates will carry out their inspection and testing on our purpose built installation. The installation includes:
• 3 phase motor circuit
• A single phase TT installation
• A single phase TNS installation with cables concealed within the fabric of the building, including SELV lighting, smoke alarms
and bathroom extractor fan circuits
• A detached garden shed
• Wiring systems include SWA, pvc conduit, clipped direct, steel trunking/conduit.
Test Wall Circuits
• Cooker circuit
• Ring final circuit
• Loop in loop out lighting
• Upstairs and downstairs 2 gang 2 way switching
• Outdoor lighting from ring
• Boiler circuit with central heating control
• Smoke alarms (interlinked)
• Lighting circuit feed to switch
• Bathroom lighting and shaver socket
• Clipped direct - designated socket circuit non RCD
• Ring final circuit - PVC conduit
• Supply to garden shed with lighting/socket and outdoor socket
• Motor circuit
• Bulkhead lighting
• Main and Supplementary Bonding (linked and separate conductors)
