What qualifications do I need for Part P registration?

The basic qualification is the City & Guilds 2382 [17th Edition]. If you are not familiar with inspecting and testing fixed installations, and the associated certification then you will also need to take the City & Guilds 2391 or 2392.

Typically how big are class sizes?

  • Installer courses – 6
  • 2382 Courses – 15
  • 2391 Courses – 8

Can I pay a deposit?

Yes, we normally ask for a deposit of £150.00* with the balance being payable on the first day of the course.

*Part P Preparation Course has a £500 deposit with the residual balance paid in four equal installments during the course.

What time do courses start and end?

Courses start at 9.00am and finish at 4:30pm.
Candidates may be asked to start at 8:30am on the 2391.

Is lunch included in the price?

Yes, a light lunch is served every day.

Do I need to buy any books?

No. All necessary books are available on loan for the duration of the course. However, you may want to purchase your own copy so that you can make notes in it and have it to take away when the course is over.

If I want to buy my own books what do I need?

C & G 2382 [17th Edition] Course:

  • Copies of BS7671 and the IEE Onsite Guide

C & G 2392 [Inspection & Test]:

  • Copy of Guidance Note 3 Installer 1

When will I get my exam results?

Results for C&G 2382 are available immediately. Practical results for C&G 2391 will be sent out within a week of the exam.  Written results take 42 working days to be return to the School.  We will then inform you of your result in writing.
