What qualifications do I need to become an electrician?

 

For someone looking to be Part P registered, the minimum requirements of most registration bodies is the C&G 2382-10 (17th Edition Wiring Regulations) and the C&G 2392-10 (Fundamental Inspection and Testing).

For those looking to gain a JIB card, and be able to work on construction sites, a full list of required qualifications is available on the JIB website http://www.jib.org.uk. There are several different grades of JIB card requiring different levels of qualification; Approved Electrician, Electrician and Electrical Improver.
