High Voltage Operations Course
This is a four-day course designed to provide the information, knowledge and teach the skills required to enable a person to isolate high voltage equipment and where there is more than one source of electricity supply. It is also aimed at electrical workers whose work may involve switching on high voltage ring systems.
This course is designed to give the knowledge required to safely isolate and earth high voltage apparatus for access. It is suggested that participants have a reasonable understanding of electrical theory. The course sessions cover;

- Safety & Risk Management
- Arc Flash
- Electrical Permits
- Switching Program Design
- Protection and Control
- Transformers and Substations
- Ring Main Units
- Complex Ring System
- Fault Conditions & Finding
- Switching Programs Practical
- Workplace Practical/Simulated Workplace Practical
Course assessment is throughout the course, with a short assessment after each session.
The cost of the 4-day course is £660 + VAT. Successful completion will result in the candidate being issued with a PTT certificate.
