The Covid pandemic has presented significant problems for companies and their staff and particularly when it comes to training. In many cases companies have decided to postpone training until such time the situation allows training to resume under normal circumstances. But for some essential industries this may not be an option.
One of PTT’s major clients operates in the nuclear industry and its regulator insisted that training critical to the safety of its operations had to continue. The client approached PTT to request ideas on how its training programme for its electrical engineering staff, currently delivered by PTT in a conventional classroom setting, could be adapted to be delivered remotely.
Following discussions between the client’s management and PTT staff it was agreed to deliver the training on-line. But this was only part of the solution. The training included a written examination at the end of the course so a solution to deliver this remotely also had to be found.
In recent years PTT has developed an expertise in developing on-line training courses with several of its courses and assessments now available as an on-line option using PTTs own Learning Management System (LMS). This meant PTT had the requisite knowledge and skills in place to provide an immediate solution to meet our client’s needs. The result was that PTT were able to create an on-line course along with on-line assessments within a little over two weeks. Within a month, PTT were able to train and formerly assess 200 of the client’s electrical engineers and technicians with minimal disruption to the operations of the business and to the satisfaction of its regulator.
PTT can offer companies a broad range of bespoke and flexible electrical engineering training solutions. Please feel free to contact us to discuss your requirements.
