Aimed at those with limited or no electrical knowledge, this course will start by covering the many benefits electricity brings to society. It will explain the two main types of electricity (AC and DC) as well as its key components of voltage, current and resistance. It covers the dangers of electricity and describe a simple way of remembering the hazards. It provides basic instructions on helping someone you suspect of receiving electric shock.
Towards the end of the course an overview of the main standards, guidance and legislation that control the use of electricity in the workplace are discussed, and is finished off by looking at simple maintenance plans and portable appliance testing including who within an organisation would be best to carry out those duties.
Each module includes a number of questions to support a thorough understanding of the subject and on successful completion candidates will receive a certificate of attainment.
