Session summary

This course is open to all electricians, plumbers, HVAC installers, window blind and shutter installers and associated trades, who wish to explore an easy to master fully wired internet-free, smart home control system.  During this half day session you will learn about the advantages of a centrally wired but de-centralised control system for the modern smart home, using the Velbus® range of hardware.  You’ll discover how easy a modern system should be to install, commission, maintain and upgrade / expand.

We’ll walk you through the process of planning a centrally wired system and explain how this is easier than a traditionally wired building, pointing out the elimination of complex ceiling rose joints and all joint boxes.

We’ll explain how a single continuous 4 core ELV control cable can be used for heating, cooling, lighting, HVAC control of all circuits, ranging from 0V control of alarm panels to 230Vac lighting and heating devices.  Enabling you to offer multi-way switching options just as easily as a single point of control for any or ALL of the aspects of a property.

You’ll discover how simple it is to provide fully zoned heating and / or cooling control to your projects, without the need to install any more hardware than a simple glass panel “switch” into every room or zone.

The 10 year warranty will be explained and how with a simple registration of a project, you can offer your customer complete peace of mind.

There will be an opportunity to get “hands on” with the hardware and configuration software, to ensure you are totally comfortable with the product and basic configuration techniques.
By the end of this short course you will have a good understanding of the installation concepts and starting knowledge of the configuration requirements and software environment.

The course is modular, providing both theory and practical examples of installation requirements from existing installations to the handover of a new installation to maintenance staff or property owners.
